The management of ELITE City Resort in Kalamata once again selected EOT-EXE to cover the energy needs of the ultra-luxury villa complex, assigning the implementation of the domestic hot water production system.
The EOT-EXE engineering team, consisting of specialized electrical and mechanical engineers, visited the installation to study the needs and particularities of the project. Following a detailed analysis, they proceeded with the design and implementation of an innovative solution that ensures excellent operation with high performance and exceptional energy savings.
The installation equipment for covering the needs of the complex’s 6 different buildings
Based on the data collected, EOT-EXE proceeded with the implementation of an ideal solution for ELITE City Resort, installing a hybrid system that combines the most efficient and “green” technologies. The system includes a solar thermal system, which covers the majority of domestic hot water production, and heat pumps that are activated on days with limited sunshine. Thanks to the modern automation of hybrid systems, high performance and maximum energy savings are ensured, as the use of the most efficient system alternates automatically depending on environmental conditions.
Due to the differences in the needs of the complex’s six buildings, the project was divided into three implementation stages to ensure smooth operation and maximum efficiency for each building. In the first stage, the hybrid system was installed on a pilot basis in the SEA BREEZE building. From the tests that followed to evaluate proper operation and performance, it was found that the system achieves total energy savings close to 90%.
Following this successful result, the second stage proceeded, which included the installation of hybrid systems in the SUNSET, STARLIGHT, and HORIZON buildings. Then, the third stage was completed with installation in the GOLD COAST and SIREN buildings, achieving equally impressive energy-saving results.
ANDRIANOS Solar Collectors — World Leading Solar Thermal Technologies
The hotel’s solar thermal system includes vertical AND-SOLAR PREMIUM solar collectors, manufactured by ANDRIANOS, each with a collector surface area of 2.72m². These collectors are considered the most efficient flat plate collectors manufactured in Greece and are among the top worldwide.
With an average efficiency index ηcol=67% on aperture area according to EN 12975 and ηcol=63% according to ISO9806:2013, the collectors achieve maximum performance using the smallest surface area.
The solar thermal system installation in the SEA BREEZE building of ELITE City Resort includes 4 AND-SOLAR PREMIUM solar collectors with a total surface area of 10.88m². In the second-stage buildings (SUNSET, STARLIGHT & HORIZON), the system consists of 10 AND-SOLAR PREMIUM solar collectors, with a total surface area of 27.2m², while in the third-stage buildings (GOLD COAST & SIREN), the system includes 4 AND-SOLAR PREMIUM solar collectors, with a total surface area of 10.88m².

ARISTON Nuos Plus Wi-Fi Heat Pumps
The ARISTON Nuos Plus Wi-Fi Heat Pumps with integrated tanks collect and store the hot water produced by the solar collectors, while ensuring continuous hot water supply on days without sunshine.

In the SEA BREEZE building installation, three ARISTON Nuos Plus 250 SYS heat pumps were installed. To supply the SUNSET, STARLIGHT, and HORIZON buildings, seven ARISTON Nuos Plus 250 SYS heat pumps were installed, while in the GOLD COAST and SIREN buildings, four ARISTON Nuos Plus 250 SYS heat pumps were installed, ensuring reliable and efficient domestic hot water supply.

Taconova Solar Stations & RESOL Solar Controllers
The solar station is the “heart” of the solar thermal system, ensuring the proper operation and synchronization of all individual parts of the system.
For each hybrid system, a Tacosol Circ ZR dual-line solar station by Taconova is installed, along with a DeltaSol SLT solar controller by RESOL, which allows monitoring and configuration of the system’s important parameters via the internet.
With this technology, a simple press of a button is enough to check the status of the solar thermal system and its energy efficiency. The power output of the solar collectors is continuously measured, ensuring that maximum energy is transferred to the tank/storage unit. Advanced software continuously optimizes the energy balance in real time. In addition, remote intervention and parameter adjustment are possible, ensuring immediate and effective maintenance.
