In the heart of Kalamata’s coastal zone, a new accommodation has already become a reference point for sustainable hospitality: the ACHINOS - Kalamata Mediterranean Suites. This building is not just a hotel. It is a complete proposal for the tourism of the future, where luxury and comfort meet zero-energy technology.
At the center of this effort is EOT-EXE, which undertook the installation and configuration of the electromechanical systems, transforming innovation into a daily reality for guests.
Energy becomes invisible yet ever-present
The ACHINOS appears calm and elegant to the eye, but beneath its aesthetic surface operates like a living laboratory of technology. Guests enjoy ideal temperature, clean air, and continuously available hot water, without being aware of the complex processes that make it all possible.
EOT-EXE installed heat pumps, fan coil systems, hybrid DHW solutions, and mechanical ventilation with heat recovery, ensuring that every space of the accommodation is defined by comfort and high energy performance.
Modern heating, cooling, and domestic hot water systems
Specifically, the work carried out by EOT-EXE included:
- Heating and cooling with heat pumps and fan coils, for maximum comfort and energy savings.
ARISTON Nimbus Pocket 150 MT Net R32 heat pumps were installed, known for their high efficiency and quiet operation. They were installed and configured in cascade operation (series configuration), achieving maximum performance and energy savings.
For the distribution of thermal energy to the interior spaces, concealed-type fan coils FIPA BH AERFOR were installed, ensuring minimal noise levels combined with maximum airflow.
- Domestic hot water (DHW) production through a hybrid system combining solar thermal energy and heat pumps, ensuring continuous and efficient operation.
Four ARISTON NUOS PLUS TWIN SYS heat pumps with integrated storage tanks cover DHW needs, while the forced circulation solar thermal system with ANDRIANOS solar collectors provides free hot water on sunny days. Operation is complemented by a SIEMENS three-way mixing valve for precise temperature control, along with a recirculation network ensuring instant hot water supply in all rooms.
- Mechanical ventilation with heat recovery, maintaining air quality in all areas with minimal energy loss.
With these systems, ACHINOS achieves absolute thermal comfort with maximum energy savings.
Smart building, smart management
All systems at ACHINOS are connected to a Smart Building platform, allowing remote monitoring and management. Thermostats, temperature sensors, lighting control, and energy consumption monitoring work together to ensure maximum efficiency with minimal waste.
Even on days of high occupancy, the technologies installed by EOT-EXE maintain energy consumption at near-zero levels, proving that sustainability is not a compromise, but a choice.
Water Supply and Drainage Network
EOT-EXE also completed the installation of the water supply and drainage network of the accommodation, with a design and implementation ensuring long-term reliability, sanitary safety, and easy maintenance. The water supply system was designed for uniform distribution across all areas, while the drainage network was implemented with proper slopes, noise-reducing materials, and full watertightness, following pressure tests and operational checks.
Photovoltaics, insulation, and zero energy cost
ACHINOS features a high-performance building envelope and a 25kW photovoltaic system. All electrical and thermal needs of the accommodation are covered exclusively by renewable energy sources. The result? Guests enjoy all the comforts of a modern hotel, with zero energy cost and full respect for the environment.
